一路磕磕絆絆 ，西班牙已經打入了本屆歐洲杯的西班半決賽 。小組賽前兩場比賽 ，进步西班牙都未能取勝，批动力球隊也遭受了外界的评成不少批評 。目前擔任評論員的范德法特荷蘭名宿範德法特就曾表示 ，“西班牙踢得太糟糕了 ，西班太糟糕了 。进步我真希望荷蘭能碰上西班牙 。批动力這支西班牙什麽都沒有 ，评成唯一能做的范德法特事情就是從一頭傳到另一頭 ，沒有一名球員能傳出最後的西班關鍵一傳 。”
範德法特的进步表態 ，引發了西班牙球員的批动力不滿 ，多名球員都在此後對範德法特做出了回擊 。评成沒少批評球隊表現的西班牙媒體 ，也對範德法特的發言有所不滿 。
對此 ，範德法特也給出了他的看法 ，“對於我來說 ，在做這份評論專家的工作時 ，我隻會通過我看到的比賽內容進行分析。西班牙對陣波蘭的比賽 ，西班牙踢得很糟糕 ，我隻說了這件事 。”
“我沒想到人們會這麽敏感 ，他們沒辦法接受批評 。你踢得差就是踢得差 ，我在踢比賽的時候就能感受到 。我有很多場比賽表現不好 ，人們就會說這一點 ，但沒有問題，這是這份工作的一部分 。”
“西班牙那邊對於這件事有很多回應 ，有些球員也給出了他們的回應 。但這都沒有問題 。西班牙比歐洲杯剛開始的時候踢得好多了 ，也許（我的批評）還成為了他們的動力 ！他們現在踢得挺不錯的。”
