在下半場開打前 ，法國隊主帥德尚接受采訪時談到本澤馬的傷情 ，當被問到本澤馬是否拄著拐杖時，德尚表示 ：“是拄著拐杖 ，他膝蓋以上的肌肉瞬時間受到了很大的衝擊力 ，然後他決定被換下 ，因為他感覺疼痛感加劇 。但是本澤馬的傷沒有什麽大問題 ，他現在跟隊醫和康複師在一起。”
本澤馬時隔6年後重返法國國家隊，對陣威爾士和保加利亞的熱身賽 ，本澤馬都是首發出戰 ，並且在對陣威爾士的比賽中貢獻一次助攻 。本屆歐洲杯 ，本澤馬毫無疑問是法國隊鋒線主力 ，但是他的傷情具體如何現在還是未知數 ，可能會對他的歐洲杯前景產生影響 。
