烏拉圭本輪雖然大敗，但他們的平分對手厄瓜多爾同樣1-2不敵委內瑞拉輸球，導致兩隊目前仍是平分 。
智利本輪雖然贏球，仍在南美區位列倒數第三 ，僅領先玻利維亞與委內瑞拉 ，但他們與排名第六的巴拉圭也隻差2分 ，如果能夠就此奮起直追 ，仍有出線希望 。
