男足最佳球員、男足最佳教練和最佳門將的獲獎者由投票選出 ，投票成員包括現任男足國家隊教練（每隊一名） 、現任男足國家隊隊長（每隊一名） 、每個地區一名專業記者代表 、在FIFA注冊的全球球迷代表。不論實際投票人數，四類評選團成員的投票權重相等 ，主帥 、隊長 、記者 、球迷各占1/4 。主帥和隊長以及記者的投票將在FIFA官網公示 。
