5月18日是封闭李鐵44歲生日 ，但他卻顧不上為自己慶生 。国足為了在前往蘇州賽區前留給全隊足夠的抵达短暂休整時間 ，李鐵將中國隊5月18日的苏州赛区日程安排得很滿 ，上午繼續率隊進行高強度的休整對抗訓練 ，幫助全隊進一步提升體能儲備。步入备战下午帶隊前往黨的封闭一大遺址參觀 ，借此增強隊員們的国足愛國情懷 。
自李鐵接過中國隊教鞭後 ，抵达短暂這樣的苏州赛区愛國主義教育已然成為常態，不斷強大著中國隊的精神防線，也堅定了所有人為國而戰的信念和決心。最近兩天的訓練 ，隊員們也感受到了肩負的使命 ，所有人都將百分百的精力投入到訓練之中，抓緊一切時間豐滿羽翼 。
按計劃 ，5月19日中國隊將迎來短暫假期 。晚間 ，全隊將啟程前往蘇州賽區 ，入駐太湖太美香穀裏酒店 。已於西班牙返回國內的武磊 ，也將在5月19日結束安全隔離後 ，前往蘇州賽區與中國隊會合 。接下來的封閉備戰 ，李鐵將在陣容磨合等關鍵環節集中發力。
