北京時間11月19日，水慶霞出任中國女足主帥後首次公開露麵 。霞执心情希望在接受五星體育采訪時 ，掌女足后水慶霞表示 ：“（當選女足主帥）心情還是亮相蠻激動的 ，希望能打好此次亞洲杯 。蛮激”
早在全運會期間 ，动的打好水慶霞就曾在接受采訪時表示了希望擔任中國女足主帥的亚洲決心 ：“夢想每個人都有 ，我希望能當女足國家隊主教練 ，水庆首次帶隊在世界舞台上展現 。霞执心情希望”
在當時和澎湃新聞記者的掌女足后交流中 ，水慶霞也同樣流露過這一理想 ，亮相“畢竟作為教練都會有這個（執教國家隊的蛮激）願望” 。水慶霞 。动的打好
目前 ，亚洲水慶霞上任女足主帥後的水庆首次首個大賽是於2022年1月20日至2月6日舉行的女足亞洲杯。水慶霞表示 ：“亞洲杯1月20日開始 ，從時間準備上來說比較匆忙 。因為女足聯賽要打到11月30日 ，給我們整體訓練的時間並不多 。”
麵對備戰新一輪大賽周期的中國女足，水慶霞表示在亞洲杯期間球隊陣容不會有太大變動，“整個亞洲杯過程當中，希望在球隊原有陣容的基礎上去做調整 。”
本屆女足亞洲杯成績最好的五支隊伍（除澳大利亞外）將直接獲得2023年國際足聯澳大利亞新西蘭女足世界杯入場券。按照賽事排名 ，也將有兩支隊伍獲得洲際附加賽參賽資格 。
所以對於中國女足來說 ，晉級世界杯並無難度，關鍵在於場上表現如何。
