拜仁球星萊萬去年夏天時就與金球獎擦肩而過，感谢當時《法國足球》官方宣布 ，评审由於缺乏足夠公平公正的莱万評選條件 ，2020年的获都金球獎取消，這引起了不小的体金团对爭議，而萊萬正是球奖那一年度贏得金球的最大熱門人選 。萊萬在2019-2020賽季表現出色 ，感谢他在47場各項賽事中打進55球助攻10次 ，评审打破了多項個人紀錄 。莱万與此同時 ，获都萊萬當時還率領拜仁獲得了德甲 、体金团对德國杯和歐冠在內的6大賽事冠軍，並且榮獲了國際足聯（FIFA）評選的2020年度最佳球員 。
