對於本場比賽的對手山東泰山 ，佩德羅表示：“對陣衛冕冠軍的比賽 ，對我們來說意義重大。無論在球隊陣容和戰術風格上 ，山東泰山都是一支完整並且成熟的隊伍 。在進攻端 ，球隊通過運動戰和防守反擊得分的手段多樣 ，他們防守體係的打造同樣出色 ，這也是山東泰山去年取得出色成績的原因。不過我們的球員能力同樣優秀 ，我相信他們能夠打出精彩的比賽 。”
當記者提到 ，目前取得了聯賽十二連勝的武漢三鎮如果可以贏下對陣山東泰山的比賽 ，就將追平中超連勝紀錄 ，對此 ，佩德羅表達了自己謙虛的態度 ：“這是我們在中超賽場征戰的第一年 ，賽季前備戰時我隻想打造一支有特點的球隊 ，希望球員們認真對待每一場比賽 ，沒有過多考慮結果。能夠取得現在的成績 ，要感謝俱樂部和球員們 。本場比賽我也不會過多關注這件事情，我的態度始終是要打好每一場比賽。如果能夠獲勝 ，對於我們來說自然是一件值得驕傲的事情 。不過山東泰山是一個強大的對手 ，每一名球員都具備突出的能力 。想要取得滿意的結果 ，需要我們每一名球員拚盡全力 ，拿出最好的表現。”
本周斯坦丘的身體出現了一些不適 ，佩德羅透露了他的傷病情況：“斯坦丘明天能否出場仍需我和醫療組進行協商 ，評估球員狀態 。毫無疑問斯坦丘對於我們來說十分重要 ，不過明天無論誰出場比賽 ，我都會給予他充分的信任 。”（裴力）
