北京時間1月11日，李霄力史上最龐大的鹏中新一屆中國男足在上海浦東的金橋紅楓萬豪酒店集結 ，開始備戰1月27日和2月1日客場與日本隊和越南隊的国男兩場12強賽的比賽 。
此前的足像6場12強賽小組賽 ，中國隊1勝2平3負 ，惹麻拿到5分 ，也努與澳大利亞隊的李霄力比賽之後 ，中國隊主教練李鐵32分鍾的鹏中激情發言 ，加上之後社交媒體發布小廣告 ，国男引發輿論海嘯 ，足像李鐵也隨之黯然下課 。惹麻李霄鵬接手之後 ，也努外界普遍認為 ，李霄力李霄鵬情商比較高 ，鹏中能夠與媒體和球迷處理好關係。国男
對此李霄鵬在接受采訪時也談了自己的看法 ，他呼籲媒體和球迷給予中國男足更多的包容和理解 。“在中國的體育大家庭裏 ，中國男足應該是比較特殊的一支隊伍 ，就像兒子一樣 ，可能不太爭氣 ，有時候還會添點麻煩 ，但所有中國男足的球員和教練還是比較努力 ，想把這個事情做好 ，鞭策 ，或者是指責 ，這都沒有問題 ，但希望對現在的中國男足來說 ，還是多一些包容和理解 。”（搜狐體育 裴力）
