本場比賽 ，见西甲裁坐擁主場之勢的判迷塞維利亞，在開局不久之後便由戈麥斯創造了一記點球 ，操作哨拉基蒂奇隨後操刀命中 ，声响赛為球隊取得領先優勢 。起后求返進入下半時之後 ，场比塞維利亞很快又依靠奧坎斯波破門擴大比分 。活久第90分鍾時 ，索爾達多曾利用點球機會破門 ，為格拉納達扳回一球，但此時已無力回天 。
比賽進入傷停補時階段時 ，場上出現了有趣的的一幕——當值主裁在補時第3分4秒時吹響了終場結束的哨音 。此時 ，塞維利亞的球員已紛紛開始返回更衣室慶祝，畢竟依靠這場勝利 ，他們在3輪比賽過後積70分 ，領先第五名少賽一場但隻積50分的皇家社會20分 ，鎖定了下賽季的歐冠正賽資格 。然而，令人感到不可思議的是 ，當值主裁很快又突然覺得比賽補時的時間並不夠，於是又要求球員們重新披上戰袍返場繼續比賽 。
賽後 ，當接受采訪談及此事時 ，塞維利亞進球功臣奧坎斯波說到 ：“裁判以為比賽時間已經到了，所以吹響了比賽結束的哨音 ，可是後來又跟我們說他犯了個錯誤，我們得返場繼續比賽 。”對於當值主裁的這一迷之操作 ，奧坎斯波也直呼“從沒見過 。”
