熟悉根寶基地和這批球員的根宝过生人都知道 ，此前基地成立日未搞過紀念活動 ，称赞球員回基地看望根寶大多數選擇農曆大年初二 ，武磊也就是连罚根寶生日這一天 ，"球員大多數還是点球待国有春節假期的 ，而7月份一般都是不易中超賽季 ，球員賽事任務繁忙 。许诺线去年本來我們有想法 ，足出舉辦一個基地成立20周年慶祝 ，根宝过生最後也是称赞因為疫情影響沒搞成。沒想到今年中超賽程為避讓國家隊而調整，武磊這幾天中超球員大多數還都在緊張訓練，连罚所以就不叫他們了 ，点球待国像張琳芃也是不易被球隊召回去訓練 ，今天早上從上海飛的许诺线 ，他自己很想一起來……"
三位客人中，新燙了一個花式發型的武磊 ，毫無疑問是最特殊的一位 。因為在海外踢球加上疫情影響 ，武磊上一次回基地還是兩年前 。現在基地已經內外翻修一新，"條件比我們那時好太多太多了！"
承擔核心作用 ，吃過很多苦 ，也讓武磊和隊友一起見證甚至創造了很多奇跡 ，從中乙冠軍到中超冠軍；從亞足聯U14射手王 ，到中超金靴；還有幫上海奪得闊別26年之久的全運會男足冠軍……
最近的幾場40強賽 ，根寶最高興的就是武磊接連罰進點球 ，"幾個對手都不好打 ，武磊自己創造點球，自己罰進 ，對鼓舞全隊的士氣是非常關鍵的 。而且現在點球越來越難踢 ，我看了幾場歐洲杯，都有球星罰丟點球的 。歐洲守門員手臂伸開 ，基本上把球門都擋住了 ，要進球還是要騙過守門員才行 ！以前人家問貝利足球場上最怕什麽 ？他就說罰點球 ！"
根寶提到 ，其實在東亞時期武磊一直是球隊主要點球手 ，"全運會半決賽對山東 ，武磊就是罰的最後一個點球 。"但是後來在金山打衝超關鍵戰 ，"兩次點球罰失 ，差點沒衝上中超。後來中超開始階段也有點球罰失……"
而這次國足晉級 ，武磊的幾個點球罰得相當穩健，"確實有進步 ，主要是心態上的 ！這種時候別說罰球了 ，很多人看都不敢看 。"顏駿淩馬上老老實實承認 ，武磊罰球時他就沒看……
"兩次在西班牙給你過生日 ，去年因為疫情控製沒過去 ，我希望國足出線之後 ，我們一起給你過生日！"老帥表達了這樣的心願 ，讓一直擔任基地球隊隊長的王燊超笑了 ："徐指導的心願總是能實現的 ，看我們這次努力吧 ！"
武磊談到 ，參加上一屆12強比賽讓他們積累了一些經驗 ，再一次麵對關鍵比賽心態會好很多 ，"這次12強的每支隊都不弱 ，都想做攪局者 。我們也沒必要完全處於弱者心態 ，擺正自己的位置 ，全力以赴去爭取 ，相信就會有機會 ！"
