本報訊（記者 顧穎）本周末 ，2021賽季足協杯賽所有預賽全部結束 ，杯更兵申杯赛浙江 、多意南通支雲 、义热北京北體大 、身练成都蓉城 、花否武漢三鎮 、力拼淄博蹴鞠、荣誉陝西長安競技 、足协赚昆山FC 、杯更兵申杯赛四川九牛這9支中甲球隊，多意和U20國足 、义热西安駿狼 、身练陝西俑士超越 、花否四川民足 、力拼青島青春島 、丹東騰躍這6支中乙球隊 ，以及中冠球隊梅縣球鄉 ，將與包括天津津門虎在內的16支中超球隊一起 ，進入共有32支球隊參加的正賽。
此前在低級別聯賽進行的預賽 ，有兩大焦點引人關注 ，其一是原本南通支雲0 ：6不敵黑龍江冰城 ，但是卻由於黑龍江冰城在比賽的下半時 ，有2分鍾場上沒有U23年齡段球員 ，違反了中國足協相關規定 ，最終這場比賽改判南通支雲3:0取勝晉級；其二是本賽季參加中乙聯賽的U20國家隊 ，預賽最後一輪淘汰了無錫吳鉤進入正賽 ，雖然他們在中乙聯賽的比賽不被計算成績 ，但是進入正賽 ，便有了與高級別球隊交鋒 ，繼續鍛煉隊伍的機會 。
接下來 ，預賽晉級的16支球隊 ，將與直接晉級的16支中超球隊分成兩組 ，從10月中旬開始 ，分別在兩個賽區進行兩輪單敗淘汰賽，決出8強後 ，再到同一個賽區進行淘汰賽 。根據賽製 ，8進4單場定勝負，半決賽采用兩回合定勝負 ，決賽再改為單場定勝負，冠軍球隊取得下賽季參加亞冠聯賽的資格 。截至目前 ，足協杯正賽隻有時間表 ，中國足協尚未公布具體的賽區安排 。
考慮到足協杯安排在國足征戰卡塔爾世界杯亞洲區十二強賽期間 ，中超各隊國腳缺席 ，外援也不能保證 ，因而賽事對參賽球隊而言 ，更多的意義是熱身 、練兵 ，外界目前反而比較關注在中超聯賽中意外進入保級組的上海申花隊 ，是否會力拚足協杯 ，最大限度“賺回”榮譽 。
