歐洲杯決賽，意大利會迎戰英格蘭 ，尼英兩支球隊也會為最後的格兰冠軍而戰 。賽前 ，体比太多意大利主帥曼奇尼接受了采訪 ，用技他表示盡管英格蘭球員身體比意大利強壯 ，术取胜但是曼奇们强希望意大利球員可以用技術優勢戰勝對手 。
曼奇尼首先談起了自己的尼英心態 ：“我沒有感到焦慮 ，對於即將到來的格兰決賽我可能會感到有些不同 ，我們的体比太多目標是享受比賽 ，當然我也希望我們能有些實質性的用技進展 。而那確實並不容易 ，术取胜能來到這個階段的曼奇们强比賽說明我們做得還不錯 ，在休假之前還有一場比賽需要我們做好 。尼英”
談到此前半決賽對戰西班牙的格兰比賽，以及即將迎戰的英格蘭時 ，曼奇尼說道 ：“半決賽踢西班牙 ，我們確實想踢出自己的風格 ，但是對手在限製我們的方麵做得非常好 ，因此我們沒有打出此前的進攻 。意大利的穩定讓球隊進入了決賽，因此我們不會改變球隊的戰術風格 。英格蘭球員的身體比我們球員要強壯的多 ，這不僅僅指的是中場 ，所有位置都是如此 。但足球是用腳踢的，因此希望我們的戰術能夠勝出 。”
“一直以來英格蘭都是一支出色的球隊，但是過去的這些年英格蘭有些不走運。在溫布利球場的比賽會坐滿球迷 ，我認為這場比賽會非常精彩 ，對於任何熱愛足球的人們來說 ，這都是不可思議的。我們知道英格蘭的實力非常強 ，看看未來會如何吧，能夠殺入決賽的球隊都不是弱隊 。”
蘇格蘭媒體將曼奇尼PS成蘇格蘭對抗英格蘭的民族英雄華萊士，對此曼奇尼說道 ：“這非常有趣 ，但是我隻會專注比賽 ，希望比賽結束的時候能夠聽到我們球迷的慶祝 ，這終究是一場足球比賽。”
采訪的最後 ，曼奇尼說道 ：“現在意大利需要做的就是保持冷靜 ，當然這會非常困難 ，但是我們依舊需要專注 ，需要明白這是最後一場比賽了，我們要享受屬於我們的90分鍾 。進入歐洲杯的決賽是我職業生涯最重要的時刻之一，我在國家隊參加過很多級別的比賽 ，盡管我們配得上 ，但沒有贏得過U21歐洲杯或者是世界杯的冠軍。現在我們代表意大利 ，希望明天的比賽能夠讓作為教練的我感到滿意 ，那是我作為球員沒有享受過的 。”
