還有兩天 ，法國隊就將迎來歐洲杯首戰與德國隊的佩吉較量 ，這也是抱怨歐洲杯小組賽首輪最值得關注的對決 。但在賽前 ，场次人們關注的德尚重點或許已經很難放在球隊的備戰計劃 ，而是球队全部聚焦在兩名前鋒姆巴佩和吉魯間的口水戰 。
當地時間周日下午 ，姆巴没问姆巴佩出席新聞發布會 ，佩吉談到了這次與吉魯間的抱怨爭議 ：“我和吉魯已經交流過了 ，我們都知道發生了怎樣的场次事情 。我確實因此受到了一些影響 。德尚但我們都覺得這沒什麽大不了 。球队來到這裏 ，姆巴没问我們的佩吉目標是共同代表法國隊出戰 ，而這才是抱怨最重要的事情 。”
對於吉魯的話，姆巴佩為什麽不滿？“真正該關注的一點 ，是他把這件事公開說了 ，而不是這句話本身正確與否 。”姆巴佩說 ，“我在更衣室裏也看到他了 ，但當時他什麽都沒說 。而他表達的這種情緒 ，我在每場比賽中都會體驗365次 。”
在接受TF1采訪時 ，法國隊主帥德尚也被問及此事 ，但他似乎不想把事情鬧大 ：“吉魯和所有的前鋒都一樣 ，他會抱怨他沒有接到球 。但這不是問題，我不會與他們單獨談話，我的談話總是會麵向全隊 。很多事情都會在很大程度上被曲解 ，而在球隊內部，沒有任何問題。”
