拉伊奧拉在當地時間1月12日來到米蘭市的病情聖拉斐爾醫院（San Raffaele）接受了手術 ，據《圖片報》透露，严重拉伊奧拉這次進行的进I经纪检查是減肥手術 ，需要接受全身麻醉 。公司原本拉伊奧拉計劃在手術後幾天內就能出院並開始工作 ，定期但《圖片報》表示 ，拉伊拉伊奧拉在手術後肺部出現了問題 ，“他的情況很嚴重” ，並已經住進了醫院的重症病房 。
不過隨後拉伊奧拉所在經紀公司的新聞辦公室發言人否認了這種傳聞，並表示拉伊奧拉隻是去醫院接受“預先計劃好的例行定期檢查” ，而且上周進行的手術也並不緊急 。而聖拉斐爾醫院的主任醫師阿爾貝托-詹格裏洛也證實 ，拉伊奧拉在接受手術前已經計劃了一段時間，並不是突然緊急需要手術 。
近期博格巴 、哈蘭德等球員的轉會傳聞不斷 ，而這些都需要經紀人拉伊奧拉處理他們的轉會事務 ，和潛在的下家進行談判 。但拉伊奧拉如今身體健康出現了問題 ，有可能影響到旗下球員接下來的轉會操作 。
