一位消息人士向《太陽報》透露 ：“拉什福德不久前聘請了一位保鏢 ，什福时守當時他的多名德聘知名度正在不斷上升 。現在保鏢已經像家具一樣成為標配的英超一部分 。拉什福德很高興知道自己擁有一個每周7天每天24小時全天候待命的球员请保安保人員 ，因為職業球員經常成為攻擊目標 ，遭抢而且攻擊的劫拉方式越來越暴力。”
在最近幾個月內 ，什福时守至少有三名英超球員的多名德聘家遭遇襲擊或搶劫 ，其中一個正是英超拉什福德的曼聯隊友林德洛夫 。在今年1月19日 ，球员请保林德洛夫隨隊前往客場參加曼聯對布倫特福德的英超聯賽。而歹徒利用這個機會闖進林德洛夫的豪宅中搶劫，當時隻有林德洛夫的妻子和兩個孩子（分別隻有3歲和剛出生）在家 。
《太陽報》表示 ，在聖誕節和新年期間，還有另外兩名球員也遭遇類似的搶劫。其中一人被嚇壞了，甚至搬到酒店住了幾天 ，直到他的公寓安保措施得到改善才回家 。另一人家中的後院門被砸壞 ，汽車和電器被盜 。
拉什福德此前就很重視家中的安保工作 ，並且曾花費2.5萬英鎊購買了一隻專業的看護犬 。此外 ，C羅也聘請了兩位私人保鏢 。由於很多職業球員都居住在環境更好的郊區 ，因此聘請保鏢可以為他們提供進一步的安全保障 。
