據《鏡報》報道 ，巴萨曼聯前鋒馬夏爾希望在冬季轉會期離隊 ，欲用目前對他感興趣的登贝有塞維利亞 、巴薩 、莱交紐卡斯爾 、换马阿森納等多家俱樂部 。夏尔想求
現年26歲的纽卡纳亦馬夏爾曾效力過裏昂和摩納哥，2015年加盟曼聯 ，阿森並入選過法國國家隊 。巴萨至今馬夏爾已經為曼聯出場278次打進79球 ，欲用但隨著曼聯青訓球員格林伍德的登贝崛起 ，以及卡瓦尼和C羅先後加盟 ，莱交馬夏爾在曼聯的换马空間越來越小 。
顯然 ，夏尔想求在曼聯枯坐冷板凳不利於馬夏爾的纽卡纳亦職業發展 ，他想要去一支可以多踢比賽的球隊 ，而曼聯在收到合適的報價後也願意放人 。此前西甲塞維利亞已經向曼聯求購馬夏爾 ，而《鏡報》透露 ，巴薩 、紐卡斯爾 、阿森納這三家俱樂部也對馬夏爾感興趣 。
巴薩希望在今年1月引進一名前鋒 ，但他們此前的首選目標莫拉塔已經談判失敗 。考慮到俱樂部的財政狀況和工資帽 ，巴薩需要先出售球員 ，才能為新援注冊。而有人提議巴薩用登貝萊交換馬夏爾 ，這樣無需花費轉會費 ，同時還騰出了為新援注冊的薪水空間 。
登貝萊的合同在今年夏天到期 ，曼聯在2020年夏天曾求購登貝萊 ，但當時談判沒有成功。加盟巴薩這樣的豪門對馬夏爾很有吸引力，不過球員交換的交易需要多方談判 ，這可能導致轉會變得更加複雜 ，花費更長的時間才會有結果 。
紐卡斯爾被沙特王儲薩勒曼收購後 ，冬季引援並不缺乏資金 。而且在此前紐卡斯爾對曼聯的比賽中 ，前鋒卡勒姆-威爾遜受傷 ，這意味著紐卡斯爾急需在冬季引進一名新前鋒。目前紐卡斯爾正在關注馬夏爾的情況 ，盡管馬夏爾目前對加盟紐卡斯爾不感興趣 ，但如果和其他俱樂部的轉會談判都沒有結果 ，馬夏爾在無奈之下也可能選擇紐卡斯爾，畢竟紐卡斯爾完全能夠承擔他的轉會費和薪水 。
