北京時間6月20日 ，英媒意英國媒體《泰晤士報》報道了有關歐超聯賽的欧超最新進展 。該報道援引消息人士的不存采訪指出 ，“超級聯賽沒有死亡 ，退出隻是机制在休息 。”
此前 ，豪门歐洲12家豪門俱樂部宣布組建歐洲超級聯賽 ，致同但隨後遭到了各界人士以及球迷們的英媒意強烈抵製 。在各方壓力之下 ，欧超英超Big6率先發布退出歐洲超級聯賽的不存聲明 ，隨後 ，退出馬競和米蘭雙雄也宣布退出。机制目前，豪门歐超聯賽的致同12家創始俱樂部中隻剩下皇馬 、巴薩和尤文還在堅持。英媒意《泰晤士報》表示 ，六家英超俱樂部都沒有“正式”退出這項賽事 ，超級聯賽在西班牙成立了一家控股公司 ，聯合所有者和股東就是這12家創始俱樂部 。另外 ，有資深人士告訴《泰晤士報》 ，歐超不存在退出機製，歐超的組織者正準備未來以合適的方式重啟這項計劃。
此外，消息人士表示 ，12家創始俱樂部必須一致通過 ，才能解散這一計劃 ，任何單一俱樂部單方麵宣布離開都將麵臨無限製的罰款 。
消息人士透露 ：“歐超的所有者們知道這不是終點，這隻是起點 。他們將會恢複對話 ，不是今年就是明年。這是經濟引力 ，足球以現行的模式運作是無法存活下來的 。”
