2022新賽季開啟在即 ，武汉外援武漢長江隊也在新援引進完畢後確定了征戰新賽季中超聯賽的长江大名單。本賽季武漢長江隊共報名31位球員 ，队公到人其中外援3人，布新U23球員人數則達到了12名 。赛季
球隊本賽季引進的名单14位新援在各個位置上均有針對性的補強作用 ，他們也已選擇屬於自己的员达號碼 ，外援福布斯身披10號戰袍，武汉外援布魯諾與卡耶維奇分別選擇5號和16號球衣；三名回歸加盟球隊的长江球員中 ，聶傲雙穿上18號球衣，队公到人韓軒與胡靖航則重新穿上曾伴隨自己戰鬥的布新3號和19號球衣；新援中年齡最小的張華峻 ，則披上了埃弗拉留下的赛季17號戰袍 。六名從U21梯隊上調的名单年輕小將也首次擁有了一線隊的號碼，曹孝義 、员达任康康、武汉外援黃旭恒 、尼海提、皮梓楊、李達分別選擇31 、35 、36 、39 、40 、42號 。
在本賽季的31人大名單中，湖北本土及卓爾青訓出品的球員共達到16人 ，比例超過一線隊球員總數的50% ，這讓許多努力勤奮的卓爾青訓小將擁有了站上更高舞台的機會 ，同時 ，更多湖北球員選擇為家鄉足球奉獻力量 ，也將進一步推動湖北足球風格的傳承與發揚 。從年齡結構上來看 ，12名U23球員的入列讓球隊整體更顯年輕 、合理化 ，隊伍平均年齡為25.6歲，比上賽季27.7歲的平均年齡降低近兩歲 ，而隊中征戰經驗豐富的球員將為小將們的成長提供極大的幫助。
