談到上場勝利和球隊的于根內部挖潛 ，於根偉說 ：“對於我們這支球隊 ，我一直在強調內部挖潛 ，也沒有其他的辦法 ，組隊比較晚也比較倉促 ，球員的引進和組織不是常規的狀況 ，所以我們隻能靠內部挖潛 ，靠我們現有的隊員 ，能利用更合理更有效的技戰術來應對每一個對手。”
對於連續麵對國安和上海雙雄 ，於根偉指出 ：“北京國安 、上海申花和上海海港這三支爭冠的球隊實力非常強 ，但足球比賽就是這樣 ，一切皆有可能 。希望球員能擺正位置 ，調整好狀態 ，以最積極飽滿的狀態應對每一場比賽 ，把每場比賽的過程完成好 ，我相信結果不會很差 。”
