今天 ，澳洲澳大利亞足協和亞足聯都確認了 ，队退队进大增三支參加本賽季亞冠的出海澳大利亞球隊將一起退出今年的亞冠賽事 。
其中包括了原本可能在附加賽中和上海海港相遇的面对布裏斯班獅吼 。
澳大利亞球隊悉尼FC 、菲律墨爾本城和布裏斯班獅吼同時放棄將從本月下旬開始的宾球亞冠東亞區附加賽和小組賽的消息的確非常突然 ，但也在情理之中。亚冠
因為目前本賽季澳大利亞聯賽的正赛常規賽已經接近尾聲 ，這三支球隊都排名積分榜前三 ，希望鎖定季後賽資格 。澳洲而澳甲聯賽的队退队进大增季後賽時間將和亞冠東亞區小組賽衝突 ，導致他們不得不做出取舍 。出海
顯然這三支澳大利亞球隊都把國內聯賽放在了首位 。面对再加上墨爾本城和布裏斯班獅吼都要從附加賽打起 ，菲律連預備隊都不願意派的宾球他們選擇了亞冠退賽。
在本賽季亞冠東亞區還有兩周時間就將開打的情況下，澳大利亞球隊的退出給亞足聯製造了不小的麻煩 。
參加附加賽的球隊還好解決，墨爾本城的附加賽大阪櫻花將直接進入廣州隊所在的J組；需要打兩輪附加賽的布裏斯班獅吼，首輪對手菲律賓的卡雅FC將不戰而勝 ，獲得和上海海港爭奪小組正賽名額的機會 。
悉尼FC直接進入了亞冠正賽H組 ，和全北現代 、大阪鋼巴 、淡濱尼流浪者同組 。這個空缺如何填補 ，或者是該小組就三支隊參賽 ？亞足聯在公告中表示 ，會盡快做出決定 。
對於海港隊來說，菲律賓的球隊肯定要比全主力的本賽季澳甲第三名布裏斯班獅吼好對付一些 。
如今這樣的情況下 ，上海海港就算派預備隊出戰 ，也有機會晉級小組正賽 。也許一線隊出戰本賽季亞冠小組賽的可能性會進一步減小，主力們大概率會留在國內準備可能於7月中下旬重啟的中超聯賽 。
如果亞足聯不做大的變動 ，上海海港和菲律賓卡雅FC的附加賽應該會在6月23日晚上進行，地點在泰國曼穀 。
