北京時間8月7日晚19時45分 ，狮门神回手连曼聯在老特拉福德主場的埃弗季前熱身賽中4-0大勝埃弗頓。英格蘭國門皮克福德在本場比賽首發 ，顿变卻上演黃油手導致埃弗頓丟球 ，黄油他的续失表現受到球迷們的批評 。
現年27歲的误遭皮克福德是英格蘭隊主力門將 ，在今夏歐洲杯上皮克福德表現出色，球迷7場比賽隻丟2球 ，狂吐幫助英格蘭殺進歐洲杯決賽 。狮门神回手连之後皮克福德一直在休假，埃弗本周才歸隊恢複訓練 。顿变本場比賽是黄油皮克福德在歐洲杯後首次代表埃弗頓出場參賽 ，但他的续失表現卻無法令人滿意 。
比賽剛開始8分鍾 ，误遭迪涅近距離頭球回傳 ，球迷皮克福德在抱球時出現脫手的低級失誤 ，曼聯小將格林伍德拿到球後推射空門得分 ，埃弗頓0-1落後 。而在第12分鍾，皮克福德再次出現抱球脫手的失誤 ，當時B費遠射的威脅並不太大，但皮克福德又一次脫手，球到了馬夏爾腳下 。幸好這次馬夏爾準備不足未能形成射門 ，埃弗頓才沒有因為皮克福德的失誤連續丟球 。
之後馬奎爾在第15分鍾頭球破門 ，B費在第30分鍾主罰任意球得分 ，埃弗頓0-3落後曼聯。媒體表示 ，皮克福德回到埃弗頓之後隻踢了半小時比賽，丟球數就超過了今夏歐洲杯時他的總丟球數 。在中場休息後，埃弗頓主帥貝尼特斯用今夏加盟的貝戈維奇換下了皮克福德 。
雖然皮克福德在英格蘭隊的表現不錯 ，但他在埃弗頓效力期間出現過不少低級失誤 。比如在2018年12月埃弗頓對利物浦的德比戰中 ，皮克福德把一個即將飛出橫梁的球撲回界內 ，在第96分鍾“助攻”對手奧裏吉絕殺 。
而球迷們也紛紛在社交媒體上吐槽皮克福德的失誤 ：“皮克福德在29分鍾內丟的球比他在2020歐洲杯上的丟球總數還多。” 、“隻有死亡、繳稅 、皮克福德的愚蠢失誤是無法避免的。” 、“曼聯上半場的表現不錯 。不過我相信為英格蘭隊踢球的皮克福德是喬丹的孿生兄弟 。”
