3月12日 ，徐新據國內媒體報道 ，今日将抵加盟廣州隊中場大將徐新將加盟山東泰山隊。达济东队據了解 ，南随徐新將在今日抵達濟南 ，后山会合或因郝伟在濟南安頓好 ，关系隨後便和球隊匯合，徐新進行合練 。今日将抵加盟
3月12日下午 ，达济东队廣州隊訓練開始之前，南随徐新重新出現了恒大訓練基地 。后山会合或因郝伟這次回歸徐新並不是关系回隊報到 ，而是徐新與隊友們依依告別 。由於合同到期 ，今日将抵加盟成為自由身的达济东队徐新即將加盟山東泰山隊 。
據報道 ，之前有多支中超球隊都有意引進已經成為自由身的徐新 ，最終徐新選擇了山東泰山隊，原因就是山東隊主教練郝偉當初在恒大隊擔任中方教練的時候，對徐新就非常了解 ，這也是徐新選擇山東隊的主要原因 。
徐新現年26歲，上賽季一共為廣州隊出戰了14場中超的比賽 ，奉獻3次助攻 。徐新與廣州隊的合同在2020年12月31日已經到期 ，目前雙方仍沒有續約 。由於徐新沒有續約 ，因此目前他一個人單獨訓練保持狀態 。對於山東隊來說 ，如果得到徐新 ，無疑可以使球隊的中場進一步增加實力 。
