由於朝鮮隊此前宣布退出40強賽的京媒剩餘比賽 ，國際足聯昨天（5月26日）就朝鮮隊退賽後的强赛成績及名次計算辦法的最終裁決通知亞足聯 ，即取消朝鮮隊在H組已經完賽的出线5場比賽結果。雖然這一裁決結果對中國隊的规则出線形勢也會造成相應影響 ，但隻要國足打好接下來的有变4場比賽 ，對出線形勢的剩余胜影響並不大。
按40強賽的战国足必規則 ，8個小組第一和4個成績最好的须全小組第二晉級12強賽 。然而，力争朝鮮隊退賽後 ，京媒H組剩下4支球隊 ，强赛其他7個小組均為5支球隊 ，出线在各組間比較第二名成績時會產生一係列影響。规则國際足聯對此決定 ，有变各組第二名比較成績時 ，剩余胜將先刨除同一小組第二名與第五名之間的比賽結果 ，之後再按照小組積分 、總淨勝球 、總進球 、公平競賽積分的順序進行比較 。如果出現全部比較內容均相同的情況 ，就采用抽簽方式決定 。
目前，中國隊所在小組的形勢為敘利亞積15分排名榜首 ，國足與菲律賓同積7分，馬爾代夫積6分，關島隊0分墊底。雖然第二名與第五名之間的比賽結果會在各組比較第二名時被刨除 ，但“鐵家軍”依然要力爭在關島隊身上拿到足夠的淨勝球 ，因為國足的首要目標是先在積分和淨勝球上壓倒菲律賓 ，鎖定本小組的第二名 。
雖然在外界看來 ，40強賽突然出現的規則變化可能會影響國足的出線形勢，但這一變化反而令球隊的目標更為簡單——無須去考慮平局 ，計算積分 ，剩餘4場比賽的任務都變成了全力爭勝，並盡可能多地獲得淨勝球，這樣才能將命運掌握在自己手中 。
