英國媒體《太陽報》爆料稱 ，當時傑拉德對主裁說 ，“你沒有什麽要和我說的嗎 ？”主裁回答“沒有” 。隨後 ，情緒激動的傑拉德向主裁爆了粗口 ，“我知道你為什麽不和我說話，因為你***的犯了個大錯 ！你的判罰讓人無法接受！”主裁先是向傑拉德出示了一張黃牌 ，但他依然沒有停止發怒 ，於是主裁再次出示了一張黃牌 ，兩黃變一紅，傑拉德被罰上看台 。
雖然傑拉德被罰上看台 ，但流浪者依舊取得了勝利 ，第87分鍾，他們攻破了對手的大門，而進球的正是上半場被判假摔的流浪者前鋒莫雷洛。目前格拉斯哥流浪者27勝4平積85分（第33輪蘇超已經提前進行） ，在蘇超積分榜上高居榜首 ，領先第二名凱爾特人18分，他們距離冠軍僅一步之遙。本周末 ，流浪者將主場迎戰聖米倫，而凱爾特人客場挑戰鄧迪聯 ，如果流浪者獲勝和凱爾特人無法獲勝 ，那麽流浪者將提前奪得本賽季的蘇超聯賽冠軍 。
