在去年12月初進行的欧足欧战第6輪歐冠小組賽中 ，國米客場0-2負於皇馬 。联巴雷拉两场比賽第62分鍾 ，禁赛禁赛巴雷拉被皇馬後衛米利唐從身後推倒 ，沃克倒地後的严惩巴雷拉失去冷靜 ，做出了揮拳擊打米利唐腿部的欧足欧战報複動作 。這引發了兩隊球員衝突，联巴雷拉两场巴雷拉也因此被紅牌罰下 。禁赛禁赛

經過一個多月的調查後 ，歐足聯最終決定對巴雷拉和沃克進行追加處罰。國米和曼城都已經晉級歐冠16強 ，國米將在歐冠1/8決賽中對陣強敵利物浦 ，但主力中場巴雷拉主客場兩回合都將被停賽無法出場 ，這肯定會影響國米的表現 。不過《米蘭體育報》表示 ，國米俱樂部已經決定不會上訴 。
曼城在歐冠1/8決賽的對手是葡萄牙體育 ，沃克同樣兩回合都無法出場 ，而且如果曼城晉級歐冠八強 ，在1/4決賽首回合沃克也將繼續停賽 。
