北京時間5月12日 ，行赏西欲续约據多家英格蘭媒體報道 ，为图切爾西方麵因為滿意圖赫爾上任後球隊成績，赫尔合同核心準備在本賽季結束後為他提供一份新合同 ，开新與此同時，论功隊中幾名球員也得到了“論功行賞”的行赏西欲续约機會 。
圖赫爾一月底從蘭帕德手中接掌藍軍教鞭，为图目前他們在英超基本能夠鎖定前四名額 ，赫尔合同核心在歐冠中則已經打進決賽 ，开新足總杯同樣如此 ，论功在三項賽事中都取得了令人滿意的行赏西欲续约成績 。圖赫爾本人也成為了歐冠曆史上首位連續兩年帶領不同球隊進入決賽的为图主教練。
圖赫爾原本與斯坦福橋的赫尔合同核心合同為期一年半 ，含一年優先續約選項 。开新此番 ，切爾西希望能夠與圖赫爾在今夏簽訂一份新的2+1合同 ，適當延長期限的同時 ，德國人的年薪也將在700萬歐的基礎上有所上浮。
與此同時 ，球員方麵也傳出續約好消息 ，英媒稱切爾西將會給坎特提供一份新合同 ，法國後腰原本的合同將在2023年夏天才會到期 。後防大將蒂亞戈-席爾瓦也將被激活合同中的續約一年選項 。若日尼奧的留隊談判也在進行之中 。
切爾西此舉無非論功行賞 ，畢竟未來幾周之內他們將麵臨著英超爭四，足總杯與歐冠爭冠的關鍵比賽，提振士氣尤為重要。
