申花隊官方寫道 ：很高興曹贇定重返國足集訓隊 ，返国希望他刻苦訓練，足集發揮所長 ，训队献力為中國男足貢獻力量 ！期待球
據悉 ，申花國足教練組原計劃征調28名球員參加本期集訓，鼓励但隊長蒿俊閔 、曹赟入籍中衛蔣光太分別因傷病等原因確認無法參訓 ，定重教練組因此補招來自山東泰山俱樂部的返国徐新 、鄭錚 。足集然而就在訓練開始前1晚，训队献力國足又接到了費南多代表俱樂部參加熱身時受傷的壞消息。主教練李鐵不得已重新圈定替補人選 。曹贇定正是在這個背景下接到征調通知的。
