Only in Australia can you dine on scrambled eggs with a kangaroo on the side... of the table.
That's what happened at Goldies Coffee House in Melbourne on Tuesday, where a volunteer from Helping Hands Animal Rescue saved the day by helping a lost roo out of the café.
SEE ALSO:This golden mole is an exceptionally rare sight in Australia's outbackThe kangaroo had just completed its morning stroll through the adjacent shopping mall, hopping his way into a café, for a serving of poached eggs and bacon. Shocked at the rare sight, customers left quickly and called for help. Despite their cute appearance, kangaroos actually can be pretty aggressive and the locals are well aware of this.
Police helped to keep shoppers at a distance while one of the organisation's volunteers used a blanket to capture the frightened guy. "The little male roo who has been named Goldie, was a great talker (head shaking) which is always a good thing when you are trying to blanket them," the organisation wrote in a post.
Goldie was successfully caught but it was discovered it had suffered minor injuries, including a split lip and toenail wear, from crashing into the café's windows as he tried to make his way out on his own.
The roo was finally released "back to his family" in a safe area, shielded from the frightening appearance of hipsters sipping cappuccinos and munching avocado on toast. Thank goodness.
