曼聯本賽季狀態相當的穩定 ，目前13勝3平5負的戰績，位列聯賽第3位 。得益於球隊自身的穩定性較高 ，當下曼聯與第四名的紐卡斯爾已經拉開了兩分的分差 ，第五名的熱刺在多賽一場的情況下更是與曼聯仍有三分的差距 ，隻要球隊能夠繼續保持這份穩定向前的狀態 ，拿下一張下賽季的歐冠門票 ，對於曼聯來說應該也是難度不會太高。
利茲聯近期狀態不佳 ，目前4勝6平10負的戰績 ，位列聯賽第17位 。由於戰績不佳，上賽季率領利茲聯成功保級的馬什也是遭到俱樂部解雇 ，此前利茲聯功勳主帥貝爾薩是因為球隊防守不利而遭到解雇 ，但如今馬什卻是因為球隊進攻端不見起色而遭遇下課 ，當下有不少球迷朋友也是對利茲聯高層這種換帥處理有些意見，但對於利茲聯俱樂部的高層而言 ，換掉一名主帥無疑要比引進多名球員來得劃算，要知道本賽季英超聯賽那可是已經有八名主帥遭到俱樂部解雇了 ，戰績不行換主帥 ，這種風氣儼然已經是眾多球隊在戰績不佳時的首選方案 。利茲聯此前在馬什的執教下雖然沒能取得太好的成績 ，但好歹球隊已經逐漸擺脫了隻會進攻的固有競技方式 ，近期球隊戰績不佳與隊內傷員眾多也有著一定的關聯 ，而且如果細心觀察的話 ，這支球隊此前沒能取得聯賽積分與賽程不友好也有著較大的聯係 。都說換帥如換刀 ，那麽在球隊新任主帥人選還未確定的情況下 ，這樣的一支球隊必然是完全不宜高估的 。
