7月4日 ，亚足從越南傳來消息 ，联承越南足協3日透露 ，诺租南亞足聯針對越南國內聯賽尚未引入VAR視頻助理裁判技術 ，设备缺乏硬件設備的足协現實 ，已同意將VAR設備借給越南足協，强赛全面启用配合他們承辦12強賽越南隊主場比賽。亚足如其他會員協會有需求 ，联承亞足聯也將把設備借給他們。诺租南
40強賽結束後 ，设备亞足聯宣布 ，足协為確保12強賽判罰公平 、强赛全面启用公正 ，亚足亞足聯將在12強賽期間全麵啟用VAR技術 。联承
在12強賽各參賽會員協會中，诺租南中國 、日本、韓國 、沙特 、阿聯酋 、澳大利亞 、伊朗等國會員協會均已在其國內頂級聯賽中啟用該技術 。但越南 、阿曼 、黎巴嫩、敘利亞 、伊拉克等國的聯賽中至今尚未啟用 。所以其國家隊主場比賽 ，在VAR使用問題上就可能麵臨問題。
據悉，包括越南足協在內的部分會員協會已就此問題與亞足聯進行了溝通 。亞足聯也做出承諾，將把相關設備借給這些協會 ，並在12強賽開賽前 ，協助這些會員協會在其主場安裝設備 。
