北京時間4月26日 ，媒体山東廣播電視台體育頻道體育新聞主編夏曉司在社媒發文透露，人足中國足協考察組已於24日晚抵達日照 ，协考針對當地承辦中超比賽的察组察当超办場地條件 、接待能力等進行考察 。已抵
此前，达日地中中國足協 、照考中足聯籌備組曾實地考察多座城市是赛条否能承辦中超聯賽 ，但受疫情影響，媒体武漢 、人足杭州 、协考昆明等候選城市均無法承辦賽事 。察组察当超办因此 ，已抵中國足協正在尋找其他可以承辦賽事的达日地中城市 ，山東日照有望作為承辦賽區 。照考
山東日照是今年山東省運動會的承辦地 ，具備一定的辦賽條件 ，而且這裏已經建成全省首座專業足球場——日照國際足球中心 。據悉，此前中國足協已經與日照方麵進行了交流溝通 ，並在本周抵達日照開始實地考察 。
