賽前 ，无限克羅地亞足協官推曬出了近年歐冠冠軍的傲娇克羅地亞球員 。不無驚訝表示近9年的近年皆歐冠冠軍隊都有克羅地亞的球員並打趣道 ，“切爾西球迷 ，欧冠你們肯定感覺自己機會不小吧 ？冠军”果不其然，切爾西最終1-0擊敗了紙麵實力更為強勁的克罗曼城。作為球隊的地亚核心 ，科瓦契奇此役並未首發 ，還是在第80分鍾替換芒特登場 ，最終見證了切爾西的奪冠時刻。
