談到今年的國家隊和聯賽的賽程 ，魏翊東直言今年的亞冠很可能名存實亡，“今年各項賽事的優先級 ，第一是國家隊 ，第二是中超 ，然後才是亞冠和足協杯。”
隨後談到了留洋球員武磊 ，談到武磊替補出場與對方球員發生衝突 ，魏翊東認為 ：“在中國網絡上發酵被過度解讀了，球員在場上衝突很正常 ，過度解讀了西班牙人隊友沒有幫他 ，但是看了視頻後發現不是那麽回事兒 ，沒有那麽嚴重的問題 。”
談到武磊的處境，王長慶建議回國 ，“我的建議是回來，我們首先要認清自己 ，包括之前張稀哲去狼堡 ，他們都是我們國家隊最好的球員了 ，但如果踢不上球就回來 ，我們的能力達不到歐洲比賽的水平，踢不上球了還不如回來 ，我們要認清自己 ，不能進一個球就吹的不行了 。”
徐亮則給出了不同的意見 ，“如果是以前的金元足球，回國了可能還能有一筆很高的收入 ，現在一限薪 ，武磊在歐洲隨便找一家二級俱樂部都能拿得到 。”
