中國足球需要足夠多的勇氣，來麵對流言蜚語 ，亚洲更要麵對和對手實實在在的流差拉差距，且要做好這種差距日後還會不斷拉大的距比心理準備 。
一球小負於日本隊 ，想象這或許是日后國足在12強賽第二場比賽中能夠爭取到的最好結果。整場比賽 ，不断國足的中国足球控球率僅為30.4% ，射門次數為3次，亚洲是流差拉對手的1/6，而沒有一腳射正 。距比數據統計是想象複盤比賽的一個方麵，但也恰恰真實反映了國足和對手的日后差距所在 。鑒於對手的不断實力，國足在幾乎“放棄進攻”的中国足球技戰術之下非常被動 ，隨著比賽的進程 ，國足進行了調整，四名歸化球員同時出現在比賽中 ，但依然沒有改變場上的局麵和最終的結果 。這，就是赤裸裸的差距 。
麵對現實 ，國足主帥李鐵坦言 ，12強賽的前兩場比賽 ，讓球隊看到了與亞洲頂級球隊在節奏上的非常明顯的差距 ，更加清楚了自身的定位 。李鐵同時表示 ，滿意球隊在本場比賽中的鬥誌 ，他也從比賽中看到了信心 。不可否認 ，國足在對陣日本隊的比賽中 ，拿出了勇氣 ，也盡力了 ，但是實力差距擺在那裏 ，誰都無法在短時間內將它逾越 。這 ，也是赤裸裸的現實。
結束了本場比賽之後 ，國足將前往阿聯酋沙迦 ，備戰將於一個月後在那裏進行的接下來的兩場12強賽 。而武磊則是先於球隊啟程 ，馬不停蹄趕往機場準備飛回巴塞羅那和西班牙人隊會合 ，他的背影看上去有些孤獨 ，在他的身旁 ，滿是旅歐日本國腳們的身影。
還記得不久前 ，當國足殺出重圍闖進12強賽的時候，人們是多麽歡欣鼓舞 ，而當真正在12強賽的賽場上較量一番之後 ，我們看到的則是更加清晰的差距和殘忍的現實 ，前路比我們想象的更加艱難 。但這終歸是值得被好好珍惜的機會 ，沒有人會知難而退 ，正如李鐵所說的那樣 ，把12強賽每一個對手當決賽對手 ，把每一場比賽都當作人生的決賽 。
中國足球需要勇氣 ，當國足重新回到這大賽的陣地 ，正視差距是必須要完成的心理建設 ，放棄那些不切實際的白日夢 ，必須要做好長期麵對差距的準備 ，但我們誰都不應該放棄努力 。這 ，就是中國足球要坦然接受的現實 。
