在北京時間8月27日晚進行的下追一場本賽季英超第四輪比賽中 ，利物浦隊在主場安菲爾德球場火力全開 ，平英9比0擊敗伯恩茅斯隊，比前拿下本賽季首勝的场胜超纪同時 ，追平英超聯賽最大贏球分差 。难求

聯賽前三輪 ，平英利物浦隊先是比前兩連平 ，接著0比2不敵曼聯隊 ，场胜超纪尷尬地三場不勝 。难求本場比賽 ，利物浦隊終於展現出強隊風采。開場僅3分鍾 ，迪亞斯接菲爾米諾傳中頭球破門 ，此後埃利奧特 、阿諾德 、菲爾米諾 、範戴克連進四球 ，半場就將比分擴大至5比0 ，讓比賽的勝負沒有懸念 。

下半場剛開場2分鍾，伯恩茅斯隊在利物浦隊的壓迫下自擺“烏龍”。緊接著 ，徹底打出感覺的利物浦隊繼續猛攻 ，菲爾米諾 、卡瓦洛 、迪亞斯接連進球，最終將比分鎖定為9比0 。
