比賽的体接轉折點發生在第103分鍾，當時斯特林從前場右路帶球突破下底 ，触轻然後橫向突入禁區右側 ，丹麥球員邁赫勒和延森相繼對斯特林進行貼身防守 ，隨後斯特林倒在禁區內 ，主裁判第一時間指向了點球點 ，經過VAR核實後，主裁判確認點球有效 。
孫葆潔在節目中對斯特林帶球突破造點的過程進行了解析 ，孫葆潔表示 ：“通過慢鏡頭回放來看 ，丹麥5號球員（邁赫勒）確實跟斯特林有身體接觸，但是這個接觸的力度是否構成犯規呢？我們可以通過其它角度看一看 。”
“斯特林的右邊是5號（邁赫勒） ，左邊是丹麥24號（延森） ，24號和斯特林是有身體接觸的 ，但這種接觸是正常身體對抗，而5號和斯特林僅僅是輕微的身體接觸 ，構不成點球判罰，你反複看都可以感受到這種力度，是十分輕微的 ，所以這不應該判罰點球。”
值得一提的是 ，斯特林在前場右路帶球突破下底的過程中 ，右路底線前出現另外一個皮球，兩個皮球同時出現在球場內 ，但是主裁判沒有表示 ，仍然讓比賽繼續進行 。對此 ，孫葆潔表示 ：“點球判罰之前出現一個小插曲 ，在進攻區域出現了兩個皮球 ，這時候比賽仍然繼續 ，這種情況下裁判員是否應該暫停比賽呢 ？”
“因為有多出的球 ，這個多出的球是觀眾席扔給球童，結果球童沒接住 ，球才進入球場的 ，比賽一直在進行 ，替補隊員看到後跟裁判員說多出一個球。從規則上來講 ，隻有這個球影響了防守隊員去處理（才應該暫停比賽） 。而防守隊員始終緊盯著球 ，一直在進行拚搶，這件事並沒有影響到防守隊員處理球 ，所以比賽不應該停下來 。”
