搜狐體育消息 ，北京時間5月4日 ，重用《新快報》發表文章表示 ，年轻在解決欠薪壓力較大且重用年輕球員的广州情況下 ，廣州隊新賽季的队新首要任務就是保級。
廣州隊在官網上公布了新賽季一隊的赛季首任35人大名單：隊內並無外援 ，除了韋世豪 、粤媒楊立瑜 、重用嚴鼎浩 、年轻吳少聰 、广州蔣光太這5名國腳之外 ，队新其餘均為年輕球員 。赛季首任以這樣一支隊伍出戰今年的粤媒中超 ，廣州隊的重用首要任務就是保級 。
今年的年轻中超將實施“升三降三”的全新製度 ，中超的後三名將直接跌入中甲 。對於沒有外援的廣州隊來說 ，今年的首要任務就是保級 。
對於目前很多球隊遭遇的欠薪問題，中國足協在俱樂部準入時放寬了相應標準，但未來3個時間點（7月31日、10月31日 、12月31日）各欠薪俱樂部都會麵臨考驗 。如果在時間點前不執行約定 ，那麽球隊會麵臨著罰分甚至直接降級的處罰 。對於廣州隊來說 ，解決欠薪問題也是一大考驗 。
