歐洲杯1/8決賽 ，西班牙加時5比3戰勝克羅地亞 ，牙门挺進8強 。神丢此役上半場 ，乌龙佩德裏遠距離回傳給門將烏奈·西蒙 ，球已但這位西班牙國門卻沒能停好球，西班球最終漏進了球門 ，牙门導致了一粒驚天烏龍的神丢誕生 。
這記烏龍讓西班牙一度麵臨困境 ，乌龙不過球隊最終還是球已贏下了比賽，烏奈·西蒙在比賽中還做出了數次關鍵撲救 。西班日前接受采訪 ，牙门烏奈·西蒙也對這粒烏龍球給出了回應 ，神丢“我沒有將球控製好 ，乌龙丟球的球已錄像我已經看過六、七遍了 ，我也不清楚該怎麽去解釋 ，空間明明很大 。我原本希望在控球後將球傳出 ，我不知道這樣的動作我已經做過多少遍了，之前從未發生過這樣的情況 ，幸好這是可以補救的錯誤 。”
“我們一直被教導說，足球是由很多正確的事情與很少的錯誤構成的 ，而門將的錯誤就會導致丟球。這粒烏龍是個預料之外的狀況 ，或許足球就是這樣 。你可能會琢磨幾分鍾 ，但球隊還需要你 ，你必須拿出表現 。冒著風險去做這種事（門將控球） ，也是教練給我布置的任務 。”
烏奈·西蒙失誤後 ，公園球場內的西班牙球迷給他送去了鼓勵 ，對此他表示，“對於我來說是個巨大的鼓舞 ，我的情緒比較負麵 ，擔心球迷會責難我 。但看台上的西班牙球迷在向我鼓掌 ，這讓我充滿了能量 ，我對此非常感謝 。”
擔任替補門將的德赫亞 ，在中場休息時走向了烏奈·西蒙 ，兩個人進行了簡短的對話。被問及此事 ，西蒙表示 ，“他對我說的話，隻會留在我們兩個之間 。他安慰了我 ，像他這樣有經驗的門將 ，所說的話能夠對我起到很大的幫助 。”
