在本賽季告別尤文之後 ，伊瓜因本烟也伊瓜因選擇加盟美職聯球隊邁阿密國際 。联盟在接受維埃裏的踢球Bobo TV采訪時 ，伊瓜因談到了自己的轻松選擇 ，他坦承自己小看了美職聯。叼根伊瓜因還指出 ，伊瓜因本烟也要想與梅西 、联盟C羅搭檔 ，踢球就首先要懂得他們的轻松足球思維方式 。
“我很幸運 ，叼根我有機會與梅西 、伊瓜因本烟也C羅一起踢球 。联盟他們的踢球水平太高了 ，所以要先適應他們，轻松然後才能與他們一起踢球一起配合。叼根如果你和梅西 、C羅這種球星合作時 ，隻要你足夠聰明能理解他們的想法 ，那每場都能得到三四次破門良機 。”伊瓜因說道，“前提是，你必須適應他們的踢球方式。與他們合作的經曆對我而言 ，簡直就是一種特權 。”
為何選擇離開歐洲 ？伊瓜因給出他的答案 ：“在歐洲足壇，我找不到足球之外的寧靜 。好哥們兒布馮跟我說 ，如果我心中的火焰熄滅了，那就到了該改變的時候了 。”
伊瓜因坦承自己小看了美職聯 ：“我本以為在美職聯能踢得很輕鬆，甚至輕鬆到叼著雪茄也能贏球。但我錯了 ，美職聯踢起來難度很大 。這裏和意大利足球很相似 ，如果你不了解聯賽和環境 ，那就會遇到麻煩 。而在英格蘭和西班牙 ，就很容易表現出彩 。”
伊瓜因還談了自己球風上的變化 ：“在皇馬時 ，我是個典型的得分手 。在那不勒斯 ，我開始為球隊提供更多幫助 。在尤文，我幾乎成了中場球員 。隨著時間的推移 ，我的技術特點變得越來越全麵 。我現在喜歡的中鋒類型 ，也是那種會助攻的中鋒。”
