當地時間8月26日清晨，国足沟通中國男足代表團一行近80人抵達卡塔爾多哈，训练準備參加卡塔爾世預賽亞洲區12強賽前2輪比賽 。场地而就在球隊抵達駐地酒店後不久 ，暂未中国足协正亞足聯與卡塔爾世界杯交付與傳承委員會雙雙確認 ，确定12強賽B組首輪澳大利亞隊主場與中國隊的国足沟通比賽將於北京時間9月3日淩晨2點在裝有空調設備的多哈哈利法國際體育場進行。
在此之前 ，训练澳大利亞足總曾申請將澳大利亞隊12強賽首輪比賽安排在多哈進行。场地而隨後卡塔爾足協方麵向澳大利亞足總提供了4座體育場作為候選賽場 ，暂未中国足协正而這4座球場均為裝有“降溫設備”，确定也就是国足沟通外界俗稱的空調設備球場 。
經過各方溝通後 ，训练澳大利亞足總最終選定了哈利法國際體育場 。场地卡塔爾世界杯交付與傳承委員會通過其官方渠道這樣寫道 ：“哈利法國際體育場於1976年建成 ，暂未中国足协正可容納4萬人 ，确定是8座卡塔爾世界杯正式比賽場館中曆史最悠久的一座 。與阿斯拜耳基地比鄰而居 。這座球場將承辦澳大利亞隊與中國隊的12強賽B組開篇戰 。”
另據了解 ，9月7日中國隊主場與日本隊的比賽 ，不出意外也將在同一座球場內進行 。目前，中國足協正在與卡塔爾足協等有關方麵溝通 ，國足在多哈期間的訓練場地安排 。
