北京時間9月20日消息，国足據體壇記者馬德興報道 ，召开國足內部召開會議 ，内部12強賽下場與越南隊的明确比賽必須拿下 ，沒有其他任何選擇 。对阵队必
馬德興表示 ，越南據悉 ，须全在這次會議上 ，取分不管是国足中國足協也好 、國足教練組也罷 ，召开最終的内部思想都非常統一與明確 ，就是明确10月7日與越南隊的這場比賽不是一道“選擇題”，而是对阵队必一個必須要完成的任務 ，即必須全取三分 。越南
國足前兩場比賽輸球是须全因為自身的“硬實力”不夠 ，對陣越南隊的情況則不同 ，中國足球盡管這些年來技戰術水平呈現下滑之勢 ，但還不至於連越南隊都要輸。過去20多年來，中國男足還沒有輸給過越南隊 ，不管是球員 、教練抑或還是足協 ，恐怕都不願意背負一個“罵名”而被載入中國足球曆史中 。
還有一個原因是，如果對陣越南隊的比賽中依然無法拿到想要的3分 ，則中國隊此次12強賽的出線機率恐怕就基本不複存在了 。即便是拿到1分 ，像上一屆12強賽中前四場拿到1分 、後來也依然有機會的情況恐怕在本屆很難再現 。在這樣的認識與目標下 ，國足接下來的備戰將全部圍繞這一點展開 。
