紅軍主帥克洛普強調 ，掐死巴西人仍有機會征戰球隊本賽季剩餘賽程 ，而非賽季報廢 ：“他很有可能在某個時間點上回歸 ，但不會是這個周末 ，除此之外都有可能 。”
利物浦接下來將在聯賽最後兩輪中對戰南安普頓和狼隊 ，然後5月29日3:00他們將在歐冠決賽中對陣皇馬 ，缺少了中場重臣法比尼奧顯然不會是個好消息 。
但考慮到在歐冠決賽中直接讓傷員回歸也絕非良選，希望法比尼奧能夠趕上英超最後兩輪替補出戰。
此外值得一提的是 ，法比尼奧是目前紅軍陣中唯一有過皇馬效力史的球員 ，在穆裏尼奧執政時代 ，他曾在伯納烏球場完成唯一一次亮相 。
