作為本屆世界杯最熱門的奪冠隊伍 ，巴西以小組第一晉級淘汰賽。和韩內馬爾在第一場小組賽受傷後連續休戰兩場 ，内马本場對陣韓國 ，尔复建功心切的出点內馬爾帶著還未痊愈的腳踝首發出戰 。
而韓國在小組賽最後一輪絕殺葡萄牙 ，射破擠掉烏拉圭晉級淘汰賽 。门巴孫興慜最後的一腳絕妙傳球 ，體現了亞洲一哥的身價 ，讓人期待他能否在麵對巴西時依然有出色發揮 。
讓人意外的是 ，今天的比賽一開場就成一邊倒局勢 。第6分鍾 ，拉菲尼亞右路突破後倒三角回敲 ，維尼修斯後點推射得手，巴西拉開了進球表演的大幕。第10分鍾 ，理查利森禁區內上搶時被鄭又榮踢倒 ，裁判判罰點球 ，內馬爾主罰點射一蹴而就。緊接著 ，理查利森和帕奎塔擴大比分 。半場還未結束 ，巴西就以4:0領先韓國 ，比賽早早失去了懸念。看台上的巴西名宿，羅納爾多、卡福、裏瓦爾多等人看得麵帶笑容 ，輕鬆愉快 。而麵對巴西桑巴的華麗進攻，韓國隊員隻能望球興歎 ，頭號球星孫興慜也屢屢摘下麵罩 ，不知道是臉疼還是心疼。

最終 ，巴西4:1擊敗韓國隊 ，晉級卡塔爾世界杯八強 ，他們的對手將是在點球大戰中擊敗了日本晉級的克羅地亞 。
