基米希在自己的冠勒功绩社交網絡媒體上如此寫道：“我實在太失望了 ，對於我來說消化這整個問題簡直太難了 。遗忘我曾經在任何時候都100%的基米相信 ，我們可以贏得這屆大賽 。希曾相信我非常難過，冠勒功绩因此我無法讓自己與球迷感到驕傲。遗忘”
“這是基米一個巨大的機會 ，但是希曾相信我們卻沒有把握好 ，但是冠勒功绩我確信 ，我們將會重返正軌 。非常感謝大家的支持，終於能再次在球迷麵前進行比賽 ，這是一種令人難以抗拒的感覺 。”
勒夫在本屆歐洲杯後也會正式離開德國隊 ，對於勒夫 ，基米希也送出了自己的祝福 ：“非常感謝我們的主帥勒夫 ，他打造的時代不會被遺忘 。我非常感謝這些年來他給予我的信任 ，對我而言 ，每一次能為我們的國家出戰都是一種榮耀 。”
