本澤馬此前因為涉嫌敲詐國家隊隊友被德尚拋棄 ，协早多年來一直未能進入國家隊陣容中，本泽被当但是冤又有打在本屆的歐洲杯之前，德尚卻出人意料的成背將本澤馬重新召入國家隊 。在歐洲杯中 ，盡管法國的表現令人失望，但是本澤馬卻發揮不錯。
而就在日前 ，著名的記者羅曼談起了法國足協的一些內幕，他表示在歐洲杯前 ，法國足協就有了球隊表現不佳的甩鍋思路——本澤馬當替罪羊 。這位記者如此說道：“法國足協的內部有人說 ，如果我們搞砸了 ，就讓本澤馬背鍋 。但是現在法國足協的高層非常生氣 ，因為本澤馬在本屆歐洲杯的表現非常出色 ，是球隊的楷模 ，法國足協無法指責本澤馬 。”
需要指出的是 ，與本澤馬相比 ，姆巴佩本屆歐洲杯發揮低迷 ，而且與吉魯以及格列茲曼都有矛盾 ，他似乎才是最好的背鍋俠 。
