25歲的后今巴西前鋒萊昂納多，2018年加盟日本J3球隊鳥取飛翔 ，中超隨後兩個賽季他分別為J2球隊新瀉天鵝和J1球隊浦和紅鑽效力 。水货赛夺去年冬窗，前锋球遭弃用萊昂納多以6.3億日元的轉會費加盟山東泰山 ，折合人民幣3000萬 。但是在加盟泰山隊之後 ，萊昂納多的表現並沒有達到球隊的預期 ，隻代表球隊出場8次之後就被泰山隊租借至河北隊 ，在中超的第一個賽季 ，萊昂納多一共出場20次 ，總共打進了2個進球 。
本賽季山東泰山引進了克雷桑 ，萊昂納多再遭棄用 ，被迫加盟蔚山現代 。萊昂納多代表蔚山現代在聯賽出場34次 ，其中22場首發 ，貢獻了11粒進球和4次助攻，是球隊奪冠的重要功臣之一。本次奪冠 ，也是蔚山現代時隔17年再次奪得聯賽冠軍 。
萊昂納多以11球進入了K聯賽射手榜前10 ，而且還是隊內僅次於嚴原上（12球）的第二得分手 。
