費迪南德談到曼聯的戰術問題 ，“最近幾場比賽 ，我都看了 ，沒球員能夠現在補充空缺 。從我的角度來看 ，現在球隊連結構都不符合最基本的原理 ，甚至可以說毫無基礎可言。我覺得，沒有哪名球員能夠改變曼聯的現狀 。再說說施壓逼搶的問題 ，問題不在於誰上場 ，即便是有卡裏克或者坎特 ，也無濟於事，你看看隻有桑喬這麽做，你讓坎特去覆蓋四五名球員的區域，這可能嗎？這就是我想要說的 ，曼聯2-4輸給萊斯特城就是這個原因 ，過去幾場比賽都是如此 ，這種情況已經很多次出現了 。”
“在場上 ，曼聯太多的時候都是隻有一名球員施壓 ，緊跟著就是這名球員孤立無援 。”曼聯名宿費迪南德繼續說 ，“我談的不是某一兩個球員 ，而是一個整體 ，幾乎所有的球員都這麽做 ，但事實上，你不能讓這些出現在你的球隊中 。”
正如紅魔名宿費迪南德所言，曼聯的後防線真的出現了巨大的問題 ，已經連續9場比賽丟球 ，期間更是輸掉4場比賽 。由於前場球員沒有進行有效的施壓和逼搶 ，導致中場直接被對手衝擊 ，進而使得中後場球員承受了巨大的壓力 ，稍微出現失誤，就是滅頂之災 。當然，曼聯主帥索爾斯克亞今年夏天也曾考慮簽下一名中場 ，但俱樂部高層給他塞了個C羅 ，一份數據統計顯示，葡萄牙人並喜歡施壓逼搶 ，他幾乎是所有英超前鋒中“最懶”的球員，場均逼搶僅有2.7次 ，在英超出場超過270分鍾裏排名倒數第一 。或許 ，曼聯主帥索爾斯克亞真的有難言之隱 。
