On Aug. 13, 1961, Germany began construction of the Berlin Wall, perhaps the greatest symbol of the Cold War.
Nearly 55 years later to the day on Aug. 12, 2016, Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston finally followed each other on Instagram. Never fear, though, there's no Cold War here -- it's a love story, baby just say yes.
SEE ALSO:Congratulations, Calvin Harris! You won 'The Bachelorette'!The actor is brand new to Instagram, but did not immediately follow Swift on the app, which probably caused lots of people to revoke their faith in love and cancel their weddings. We sincerely hope they are all able to get those photo booth deposits back, because Hiddleswift is now Instagram official!
Hiddleston is following 17 users, including Tay Tay and some of his co-stars, like Chris Hemsworth.
The couple has not posted photos of each other yet, although they have appeared in friends' photos from Fourth of July weekend, but we're sure a very carefully planned selfie is on its way now that there are things in the world to believe in again.
