10月4日19時30分 ，廣州城隊將在越秀山體育場迎戰深圳隊 ，锋球對於同陷保級區的队总队员多兩支球隊來說，這場廣東德比也是输球一場“六分之戰”。廣州城隊主教練李瑋鋒賽前表示，自信球隊現階段已經沒有什麽可以失去及懼怕的李玮 ，“現階段我們該拿的锋球東西要拿到 ，該拿的队总队员多分數要拿到 ！”
上輪廣州城隊以0比2不敵上海海港隊，输球此前連克天津津門虎和廣州隊的自信連勝勢頭戛然而止 ，目前3勝15負積9分排名第17位 。李玮深圳隊在李章洙下課後 ，锋球在新教練組的队总队员多帶隊下雖然首戰三球大勝武漢長江隊 ，但近兩輪相繼負於山東泰山和長春亞泰 ，输球第二階段8場比賽隻拿到3分，自信排名一路下滑，目前6勝1平11負排名第13位 。從積分榜來看 ，20分以內的7支球隊都存在降級的危險 ，兩隊均身陷保級區 。
廣州城隊雖然在上輪不敵上海海港 ，但李瑋鋒表示從場上數據看 ，球隊正在朝著好的方向發展 。“球隊與海港隊存在硬實力的差距 ，但我們並沒有完全輸 ，有的數據比如跑動距離 、衝刺距離我們還是領先的，稍微欠缺的是閱讀比賽的能力 。我們並沒有對球員感到灰心 ，反而對每一個隊員都充滿信心 ，相信每一個人都有相應的能力把比賽踢好 。”
從大連回來後 ，廣州城隊一直在備戰本場比賽 ，李瑋鋒表示過去一周都在認真備戰，包括2日上下午都在訓練 。“我們一直沒讓隊員休息 ，心理上我感覺也不需要疏導 。球隊的自信源於贏球 ，總是在輸球 ，隊員自信顯然會差很多 ，但我們是年輕的隊伍 ，還有什麽懼怕的呢！”
李瑋鋒與深圳隊有極深的淵源 ，“我從1998年開始在深圳踢球 ，在那座城市 、那支球隊裏成長 、成名 。深圳隊我相對比較了解，好多都是我當年在天津帶過的球員 ，不過足球的世界裏從來不會講情感 ，希望本場比賽能有一個好的結果 。”
